Eyeliner Tattoo
Before you come for your appointment
Eyeliner tattooing normally requires 2 appointments, your first treatment plus a touch up appointment 4-6 weeks later. Here is a list of things to not have/take 24 hours prior to your appointment if possible. Alcohol, blood thinners, Fish oil, Anti inflammatory medication, Nurofen, Vitamin C, Coffee, Aspirin, Garlic, Chamomile, Glucosamine, Primrose oil, Ginger, Gingko & Antioxidants. Botox should be avoided for 2 weeks prior. Hormone therapies and medications can affect pigment and cause some sensitivity. You cannot have cosmetic tattooing if under 18 years of age or pregnant. A patch test can be done prior and is recommended, unless waived by client.
Eyeliner Tattoo is a semi-permanent tattoo for those who want to define their eyes. A Rotary Machine is used which lightly deposits pigment under the skin. Your tattoo can last 2-3 years but this varies for each person. Skin type, lifestyle and how your own skin regenerates play a big part in this. You can choose to have either top or bottom eyeliner, or you may choose to have both. You can have it very natural and just defining the lashline, or more dramatic - it's entirely up to you. It is recommended that you come for a yearly touch up to keep the lines looking vibrant and beautiful.
About
What to expect at your appointment
You will be required to complete the client forms, numbing cream is applied which can take 20 minutes to take affect. We will have a full consultation, I will draw in the eyeliner with pencil and the treatment isn't started until we are both happy. Something to note, the eye area can be sensitive and some discomfort may be felt even though every effort is made to make you comfortable with the anesthetic. Your eyes may be swollen and your eyeliner can appear thicker and very dark on the day of your treatment but this will shrink and fade. I will explain all the aftercare with you before you leave and if you have questions you are welcome to contact me.
About the healing process
Your may be visibly swollen for about 2 days. Healing time is approximately 1 week. There are no guarantees as to how your skin will heal or how the colour will take to your skin although every effort is made to colour match to your liking. You won’t be able to donate blood for 4 months. Please book your touch up appointment in 4-6 weeks.
